Spring is definitely here!

Spring break was this past week. Chris was home all week with us. I love his teacher schedule! So we figured it was a good time to transfer Braden out of our room and into his own. He's 8 months old now and needs his own space. He's done awesome! He loves to sleep on his side and stretch out all over the place! And he slept through the night for the first time the night before Easter! He's done it the past 4 nights! That by far was the best present I could have asked for!

Of course Easter was this past Sunday. Instead of staying home this year, we were invited to my aunt's house in Chico (1 hr. 45 min. away). Longest car ride we've taken Braden on yet. Luckily he took his 30 minute nap on the way there and on the way back. After about an hour and a half, he was over it and wanted out, so that's definitely something to keep in mind for the next long ride. My brother came with us and rode in the front seat, so I kept Braden company in the back. When we got there, Braden had a few Easter baskets waiting for him (what a lucky guy!). He was a good little boy and even took a nap in his playpen that we brought with us. He's growing up so fast! Here are a few pics from Easter.

Braden and his Easter basket in the morning.

He chewed on just about everything he got.

Asleep on the way to Chico.

I was bored too.

Sitting with Noni (my mom) and Gammy (my grandma).

Handsome little man.

Bocce ball gets serious!

Staring each other down on the way home.

It was great to get out of the house for the day, and now we know how well he does. We look forward to carting him around a lot more now that the weather has turned nice!

  1. That is amazing. He is so freaking adorable. How did you manage with O for nearly TWO HOURS BOTH WAYS? I think that would have tired me out more than having Braden in the car.

And of course y'all played Bocci ball. Of course you did. I know you're saving some of that Easter candy for me for this summer, aren't you?

  2. O is a lot more mellow than he used to be. The ride was nice and peaceful... actually a tad bit boring really!

  3. It was a great day. I loved having you all around me with spring in the air. Next year maybe more of us will be there! (No, no Easter candy is being saved, so come and get it!)
Your little guy is just as beautiful as the generation before him. Ah, life goes on......

  4. He is SO PRECIOUS. One of our grad students brings her son in (he's 3 or 4 mo.) 3 days a week when she has to teach and I'm always like, "Yeah, he cute and stuff but I want to see BRADEN, thank you."
